Greg Oden is not running for president

A few days ago, I wrote a post about Greg Oden's flattering endorsement of Barack Obama for this year's presidential election. Like most Obama supporters, Oden reasoned that the Senator provided significant "change" from the shameful eight years of President Bush.

So, Oden should know that Senator Obama is opposed to President Bush. He also should know that President Bush is married to Laura Bush, who is also known as the First Lady. Then, he should also know that introducing the First Lady virtually contradicts his endorsement of Senator Obama. However, the man-child apparently didn't get the Spark Notes on this whole politics thing:

Can he really be considered a "professional basketball player" if he hasn't, y'know, played?

What now, Durant-Hillary supporters?!

I'm proud to see (potential) stars like Greg Oden extend their social influence off the field and become somewhat political. Yes, I'm a bit biased because he just happened to endorse a certain Senator from Illinois with a funny name that I also endorsed on this blog. But still, it's great seeing athletes defy the dumb jock stereotype and getting their Bill Bradley on every now and then.

Let's put those extra pounds to good use!

Of course, Oden shouldn't get too much credit. After all, he hasn't played one game in the NBA and is probably bored out of his 50-pound mind (that is, when he's not becoming "too big" for the Trail Blazers). For all I know, he just saw this picture of Barack and thought it cool that he might be able to post up against potentially the world's most important man. Anyways, moral of the story: stay political, dumb jocks, even if you don't know what that means.
